Saying bye to barcelona

And finally our last day came and went. We were sad to leave Barcelona and our little mini vacation.  We werent too excited about going back to a colder rainier Rome where we were going to have to get ready for finals either.  But we had too.  Oh well. In reality theres not reason to complain cause we are still going to Rome!

So heres some pictures of our hostel.  Like I said before it was really clean, really nice and there was lots of space.  It was even quiet at night and all the other people staying there were really nice, mostly other american students.
our cool hostel

nice little front door
Back to the market for our very last breakfast in Barcelona.  The kiwi orange juice was superb and the apple pastry was as well.  Then I had an excellent midmorning snack since we were having a late lunch/early dinner at our librarian friend's apartment.  Nutella Crepe!! Sooo delicious.  Lovelovelove nutella.

i love me some pastries

i wish i was a professional crepe maker

there was even a fancy little box to eat it with

So after shopping around a little, enjoying our last bits of time in barcelona, we went to my friend's aunt's apartment.  She studied abroad in Barcelona many years and ended up coming back and staying for the past 40 years.  She has been a librarian and is an awesome person.  She made us a delicious dinner of rabbit, artichoke hearts, black rice and mushrooms, and of course some spanish wine.  For dessert we had pomegranate seeds with honey on top, which was incredibly delicious. Plus a little after dinner brandy.  She also invited her friend over to join us for dinner.  He is originally from the UK, and is a street musician.  Basically he knows how to play like every instrument, but plays the piano most often on the streets and makes a lot of money actually.  He was telling us about it and he makes a lot more money than most people.  He was really interesting to talk to.  Between the two of them, we had some pretty interesting conversations, talking about random politics, airport security, american/European perceptions, cyber existence and some other pretty weird futuristic stuff.  Definitely one of the most interesting dinners and dinner conversations I have ever had.  It was a lot of fun and I am so thankful for it.  I love barcelonaaaaa!
